Edinburgh Game Symposium

Edinburgh Game Symposium

The Edinburgh Game Symposium was started in 2013 by composers Jacob Pernell, Luci Holland, and Yati Durant. With a passion for video games and game music, the core team sought to bring more awareness about games (both industry and independent) and game music to the local community. The inaugural EGS was held at Inspace as part of the Edinburgh International Film Festival in June of 2013 in Edinburgh, Scotland. Since then the EGS have held annual events, & two separate events in 2016, including their first ever AWEdio Jam – a handson creative weekend of workshops & collaborative projects, with talks & tuition from games audio professionals Will Morton, Helge Borgarts & John Broomhall.

The Edinburgh Game Symposium strives to bring professional game developers and game composers from around the world to share with us their thoughts about these fields as both forms of entertainment and art. Those in attendance glean valuable insight into the current state and future directions of both the development and audio sides of games.
